Isle Of Eriska Resort Evaluate, Argyll, Scotland

Some components of the lodge are tired, dog-eared and would benefit from consideration. The view from one of our home windows (between our bedroom/dressing space/toilet we had four) was of a roof area the place sections of piping, a tarpaulin, and so forth had been left by builders. Silk wallpaper in an higher corridor was peeling, a curtain in our room was torn vertically on the leading edge and the piano’s foot pedals have been thick with dust. On arrival there were cigarette ends strewn on the gravel on the front door, a discarded apple core in one planter and nonetheless the case the next morning when identified to workers. It would have been helpful to have had a notice to run the recent water as ultimately suggested for 10 minutes to permit it to travel from its distant supply. We concluded that sizzling water had run out, not good for a 5-star hotel!

I suppose the person reserving the rooms should be given the most effective one. I would not have been happy if I needed to stay within the first room that was given to me. It was beautiful, gracious, and private with a lot of house to roam. For this value level the house owners need to speculate some money into making the resort spotless and top quality.

E.g. the gardens need weeding, the home windows are painted shut. Aliaster the supervisor we met was excellent and the employees have been on the entire very friendly and accommodating. I like the world and the history of the place and the peace. Four-course dinner menus change daily and feature the likes of guinea fowl, halibut and Scotch beef.

Service And Services

There are areas of the hotel thay are a wee bit tired for sure however the employees and the food maintain it at 5 star levels. Beautiful location, your personal island to explore. We beloved this place and would travel to Scotland once more simply to stay here. We loved the restaurant, the croquet pitch, high tea, the indoor swimming pool, free mountain bikes and the cottage. We thoroughly enjoy our stay on the scenic Isle of Erika and extremely recommend this resort. The roads resulting in the lodge and the hilltop accommodation have been very poor.

  • E.g. the gardens want weeding, the home windows are painted shut.
  • The alternative of actions available at Isle of Eriska is countless with a golf, archery, clay pigeon taking pictures, falconry, axe throwing, pony trekking, mountain biking, fishing and sea kayaking all obtainable on website.
  • Learn the abilities of Archery with a private lesson with an skilled Archer on the gorgeous grounds of the Isle of Eriska.
  • The bedrooms have been redecorated in a successful and smart, if barely formulaic, combine of contemporary and conventional.

Coffee/tea amenities were anticipated in our room. After request one morning staff forgot to convey our tea then having given us a kettle, and so on forgot to deliver milk the following. Reserves look fabulous but externally have not but been landscaped/”wilded” into the landscape so seem stark and unappealing. Paths on the island provide good walks but the invasive Rhododendron ponticum is being allowed a free reign blotting out vistas, threatening to encroach on paths and is denying native flora their habitat. At “Sir Ian’s Lookout” trees want topped/pruned to preserve this lookout as this had become mono-directional with the view to the west and extra open sea largely filled by timber. We did respect that it’s tough to keep up 300 acres though and we did favor the “wildness” to any over-administration or manicuring of this very particular, small island.

Home Guidelines

The restaurant workers were pleasant and knowledgeable. The food was amazing even for Michelin standard. Unfortunately the decor inside the resort was less than normal. There were a number of walls that had been a mess, in need of a good lick of paint. Also the main physique of it could be cleaner, the stairs had been often dirty in need of vacuuming and there was a lifeless wasp on the landing window sill the entire time we had been there!

The largest room on the bottom flooring is the restaurant, which mixes a wooden panelled major room that gives a surprisingly up to date really feel with a shiny and airy conservatory extension. At the height of luxury, the Isle of Eriska Hotel stands on an enchanted personal island, situated on the west coast of Scotland. It is surrounded by lovely expansive views of the Loch Linnhe and the majestic Morvern mountains.

The staff though eager to please were not as professional. Everything was nice apart from the price of drinks. Significantly overestimated – my solely criticism for an in any other case perfect 3 nights. I was especially annoyed that they have no vegetarian options at breakfast, regardless of having a vegetarian dinner menu. The solely factor was the swimming pool area which badly wants a refurb.
